Hi Ladies!!
If you are receiving this message it's because you and I have somehow in someway gotten together in the past to talk about your skin. In an effort to better serve my family, friends, and beloved clients, I have decided to post a blog once a week and send it to you for your reading pleasure.
I have learned a lot in the past 2 1/2 years. Being affiliated with Artistry skin care and cosmetics and becoming a certified skin analysis has really helped me with my own personal skin care needs. The information that I will be sending you will be from my training and from information that I receive and find valuable for others to know. It could be anything from Make-up tips, battling acne, skin health, to dry lips. Please feel free to respond to the email if ever you need to get in touch with me. I hope you find this blog helpful. The following is my very first Beauty Blog sent to you from me :) Enjoy!!
Beautiful from the Inside Out
01/16/11
Every person is vulnerable! All that stands between the environment and our internal organs is our precious skin. Skin is our largest organ and it is absolutely fascinating! It is so important and necessary to protect our skin daily by wearing the proper clothing and also by applying the appropriate lotions and serums to maintain it's health and beauty.
Beautiful skin is obtainable when healthy skin is at the starting point. Did you know that the top layer of the skin (what skin products are actually treating) is only about 10% of the actual thickness of your skin (the epidermis)? It's the deeper Dermis ,or live skin, that you find blood vessels, nerve endings, collagen and elastin in. It's what gives the top layer it's appearance and structure. It's constantly attacked by free radicals in the foods we eat, our stress levels, and what our skin absorbs.
Healthy skin requires treatment from the inside as well as the outside with anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory and hydrating ingredients.
To get the protection our skin needs from free radicals, look for products with a wide variety of anti-oxidants (examples: vitamins A,B,E and grape seed extract). To control inflammation that can cause redness, look for anti-inflammatory ingredients such as zinc, aloe, and chamomile. If you are looking or moisture retention and the improvement of fine lines then you would want ingredients with fatty acids and amino acids such as L-Cysteine and Glycine.
The ingredients listed above can be found in topical skin care products as well as in nutritional supplements offered through Artistry and Nutrilite.
I hope you have a little bit more of an understanding of skin's needs. Skin is very complex and my hope is that through education women everywhere can achieve healthier skin.
